Raitkorvenmäki cutting is part of a larger granite bedding in Perniö area, estimated to be around 1830-1840 million years old.
Quarrying of this solid granite started at the end of the 18th century and reached the peak output in the 1930s. This particular granite was used in many historically important building projects, such as The  National Museum of  Finland.  The pillars of the main hall were made in 1907.

Quarrying activities were started again in 2006. Amongst a number of candidates, Fontell Pink Mix  was the selected material by the interior architects in 2007 for a larger decorative ball for the US market.

Fontell Granite Ltd Oy is now a direct source of Fontell Pink Mix as to quarrying and marketing of block material.
